According to our news partner KETK, officials said the fake \u201cNotice of Default\u201d appears to come from a municipal court and may include a QR code directing recipients to submit payment. Authorities emphasized that the document is a scam designed to create urgency and pressure individuals into sending money or sharing sensitive information.<\/p>\n
Police urged residents not to scan the QR code, send payments or provide any personal or financial details in response to the notice.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese notices are not legitimate,\u201d the department said, adding that scammers are relying on fear and confusion to exploit victims.<\/p>\n
