Representative Moran highlighted how Republicans \u201c[…] certainly want to see this shut down.\u201d He also mentioned how progress is being impeded by Democrats playing politics with an appropriations bill they [Democrats] already agreed to.<\/p>\n
Moran said the delay \u201chas now led to almost 100,000 DHS employees missing their paychecks last week, including TSA agents who are legally required to keep working.\u201d

Sticking with air travel, the Whitehouse-native gave his thoughts on the recent Democrat-pushed idea of separating funding for workers, such as TSA agents, from the rest of the appropriations bill. \u201cIt would be a mistake for the Republicans to move down this path,\u201d Moran said. \u201cBecause what the Democrats are really proposing is they’re proposing to defund the police. The ICE and the CBP portion that they want to cut out of the overall Department of Homeland Security appropriations has never worked. It’s not something the East Texans want to support. It’s not something that I’m going to support.\u201d<\/p>\n
With the war in Iran as well as the government shutdown, it\u2019s been splitting hairs in D.C., but the Congressman closed with a sentiment that he says Democrats have continued to run with. \u201cIt\u2019s still Trump Serangement Syndrome from the Democrats. They want to oppose everything that President Trump wants to do, whether or not it’s showing strength on the world stage or whether or not it’s lowering taxes, lowering regulations.\u201d Congressman Moran continued, \u201cWhatever good decision President Trump is making, the Democrats are opposing it, and they’re opposing it simply out of politics, not out of policy. That’s driving every decision and every maneuver that they’re taking here in Washington, D.C. That’s the common denominator.
