SMITH COUNTY —\u00a0With many East Texas students on spring break this week, parents are being asked to keep track of their children\u2019s locations after d several reports of kids banging on neighbors\u2019 doors late at night in Chapel Hill.<\/p>\n
Smith County Precinct 4 Constable Josh Joplin stated that after reviewing camera footage, it was confirmed that a number of boys were banging on doors and ringing doorbells at around 2 a.m. in residential Chapel Hill neighborhoods.<\/p>\n
Joplin said that while kids may view it as a harmless prank, knocking on a stranger\u2019s door late at night could become dangerous and possibly deadly.\u00a0\u201cWe most certainly don\u2019t want an injury or death to occur in this community from a prank gone wrong,\u201d Joplin said.<\/p>\n
Joplin also stated that residents should not be disturbed inside of their own homes by children playing a prank.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo member of the community or their families deserves to be disturbed or alarmed that late at night in their own home for the satisfaction of a prank,\u201d Joplin said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
