According to the Smith County Sheriff\u2019s Office, Jaqwaylon Ogechi Pettigrew, 20, Tyler, was charged as the result of an arrest warrant affidavit. The warrants were issued for the following offenses: Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, a 2nd degree felony \u2013 $400,000 Bond, Evading Arrest or Detention, a Class A Misdemeanor &#8211; $200,000 Bond and Tamper\/Fabricate Physical Evidence with Intent to Impair, a 3rd degree felony &#8211; $300,000 Bond. Pettigrew remains in the Smith County Jail at this time.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Pettigrew was arrested at approximately 3:30 pm on NNW Loop 323 in Tyler by multiple agencies listed below. Two additional firearms were recovered during the traffic stop and arrest.<\/p>\n<p>The shooting occurred on Dec. 28 at around 2:45 a.m. Deputies arrived at Valley Blues Club, located off Country Road 486, after receiving reports of an active shooting taking place. Once on the scene, deputies observed several hundred people attempting to leave the club and found a man with a gunshot wound in the parking lot. The victim, later identified as Aarron Gordon Johnson, was taken to a local hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Another man who suffered a gunshot wound, later identified as Aaron Lamar Jackson, was also found by deputies in the parking lot of the club. He was taken to the UT Health ER and was later pronounced dead.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson was placed under arrest upon release from the hospital on Tuesday for his involvement in the shooting. Officials believe that the incident was gang-related, claiming that rival gangs were both at the club, leading to the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson was booked into Smith County Jail on Jan. 2 on charges of deadly conduct by discharging a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TYLER \u2013 A second person has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting at Valley Blues Club in Tyler last month.
