As East Texans get ready for the return of cold weather, several locations around East Texas are opening up as warming shelters and centers, according to our news partners at KETK. KETK News has put together the following list of locations opening to the public:<\/p>\n
Jacksonville
\nHighway 69 Mission in Jacksonville is opened on Sunday night as a warming shelter and is serving warm meals for those in need.<\/p>\n
Longview
\nThe Salvation Army at 519 E. Cotton St. in Longview is opening their doors during the day when the temperature gets below freezing and they\u2019ll also have their overnight shelter open with beds and cots if needed.<\/p>\n
Highway 80 Rescue Mission at 3117 W. Marshall Ave. is opening 24 hour operations with beds available to stay the night.<\/p>\n
House of Hope at 3011 W. Marshall Ave. is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. as a warming shelter.<\/p>\n
Livingston
\nLife Vine Church at 203 E Calhoun St in Livingston is offering a place to sleep, hot soup and cocoa to anyone in need starting Sunday night.<\/p>\n
Texarkana
\nThe Randy Sams Outreach Shelter at 402 Oak St. in Texarkana is open as a shelter 24\/7.<\/p>\n
Tyler
\nThe Salvation Army at 633 N Broadway Ave in Tyler is opening on Sunday night as an inclement weather area.<\/p>\n
The Texas Division of Emergency Management has an interactive map of warming centers and shelters that are open across the state for those in need ofshelter across the state.<\/p>\n
