Moran, a Republican and former Smith County Judge, was first elected as congressman for Texas\u2019 U.S. House District 1 in 2022 and is currently running to be reelected for a second term in 2026.<\/p>\n

Moran is currently running unopposed in the March 2026 Republican Party Primary for his seat ahead of the general election in November.
