Constable Ralph Caraway stated his office will continue to enforce the law and remain committed to serving and protecting the community while upholding the rights of all residents.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will continue to enforce the law, investigate crimes, serve civil process, and conduct traffic enforcement consistent with our legal authority and duties,\u201d Caraway said. \u201cThose responsibilities will not be expanded or exercised for the purpose of targeting any person because of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, color, or creed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Constable Caraway stated he wants to remain transparent about his decision not to join the task force and encourages any residents with questions or concerns to visit his office.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe welcome community engagement and transparency. If you have questions or concerns, please contact the Precinct 1 Constable\u2019s Office,\u201d Caraway said. \u201cWe will continue to work with citizens, community leaders, and local organizations to ensure public safety while protecting the rights and dignity of everyone in Smith County.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday morning, during the Smith County Commissioners Court meeting, a motion was passed permitting the Precinct 4 Constable\u2019s Office to join the program.
