Gabriel are not among them.<\/p>\n<p>Pirtle, who recently underwent open-heart surgery, announced earlier this week that he plans to continue as sheriff until his term ends in December of 2012, but will not be seeking re-election. Gabriel, who has been a county employee for 48 years and in her current position for almost 20 years, announced earlier this year that she will be retiring at the end of her current term.<\/p>\n<p>The only contested election within the party thus far is for Constable of Precinct 4.
