According to the Panola County Sheriff\u2019s Office, on Saturday at around 5:39 p.m., the sheriff\u2019s office dispatch received a 911 call from a parent who said their spouse was taking their child to an emergency room for \u201can unknown problem.\u201d When law enforcement arrived, they found the 4-year-old being treated for a gunshot wound to the leg. \u201cThe father and child were preparing to leave a deer stand near Ragley Road (County Road 182) when the child discharged the pistol that the father was carrying in a holster,\u201d the sheriff\u2019s office said.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The child suffered a non-life-threatening injury and was taken to a Dallas hospital for further treatment.<\/p>\n<p>An investigation was launched, where officials said the evidence inside the deer stand \u201ccorroborated the events as described in the interviews.\u201d <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PANOLA COUNTY \u2014 A 4-year-old boy has been shot in the leg after discharging a pistol.
