According to reports, Burke was seriously injured Tuesday night when hit by a minivan on the Troup highway. The accident happened around 6:15 near the Wal-Mart store.  Investigators say Burke had crossed three lanes of traffic before getting hit in the turning lane.   Burke was crossing the roadway in mid-block heading towards Wal-Mart and was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Troup Hwy.  He was taken to East Texas Medical Center with possible life threatening injuries and was last listed in critical condition.
