CANTON \u2014 \"\"Our news partners at KETK report that an East Texas woman was indicted on Friday for allegedly withdrawing money from the Grand Saline Youth Foundation for personal use without authorization. The Van Zandt County Criminal District Attorney\u2019s Office said Sheri Raylynn Roach, 47 of Grand Saline, the former treasurer for the nonprofit, is accused of withdrawing money from the Grand Saline Youth Foundation account without accounting to the foundation for the funds. The amount of misapplied funds is estimated to be between $2,500 and $30,000.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur evidence indicates Ms. Roach was the Treasurer of the Foundation from 2013 to 2020, but that during the last two years of that time she withdrew funds from the account for personal use,\u201d Van Zandt County Criminal District Attorney Tonda Curry said.

Curry notes that although the range of loss for an offense at this level is wide, the evidence presented here shows a loss closer to the lower end than the higher. \u201cWith this type of case, one of the primary goals of prosecution is always to restore the funds to the charity. I am hopeful that can be accomplished here to support the Youth Foundation.\u201d<\/p>\n
