The $992,353.84 development agreement was approved by Tyler City Council on Wednesday, and will expand the city\u2019s sewage system to cover the Wisenbaker Tract. The tract is a 282-acre stretch of land on Highway 271 and FM 14 that the Tyler Economic Development Council (TEDC) acquired to build a new business park. TEDC will manage the design, permitting, bidding and construction of the sewer expansion and the city will cover eligible costs after the project is completed, according to a City of Tyler press release.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is more than an infrastructure project. It is a step toward economic opportunity,\u201d Mayor of Tyler Don Warren said. \u201cBy preparing this land for development, we are laying the groundwork for new jobs, an expanded tax base and continued growth for all of Tyler.\u201d <\/p>\n
