According to a government website, Doyle Brashear, agreed to voluntarily and permanently surrender his medical license for failing to abide by the terms of an agreement reached by the medical board last year. On April 9, 2010, Brashear agreed to stop treatment of chronic pain patients, according to previous reports. The basis for this action was Brashear\u2019s failure to maintain adequate medical records and his failure to follow board rules on the treatment of chronic pain.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Board\u2019s agreed order, Brashear, in his treatment of six patients with chronic pain, violated the standard of care by failing to review existing labs\/x-rays or order new ones, and by failing to screen the patients for drug abuse potential, previous reports stated.
