Flyers will be given to residents who are directly affected to explain the estimated timeframe of operations.<\/p>\n<p>The City of Longview is executing what they are calling \u2018Chip Seal Operations,\u2019 which are expected to last around four to five days. Chip seal refers to an inexpensive seal coat that is spread along roads to protect against the forces of traffic.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cA seal coat is a surface treatment where a sticky, black, semi-solid liquid, known as a bituminous surface or asphalt binder, is applied to an existing roadway,\u201d The City of Longview said. \u201cThe asphalt binder is then covered with a layer of loose gravel, or aggregate.
