School officials tell KETK, the vote was unanimous, 6-0, with one member not present. Tyler now joins several East Texas school districts, and hundreds of others from across the state, that are a part of the lawsuit. The lawsuit is a challenge to the Texas funding system for public schools. Supporters of the lawsuit are hoping it will bring more equality to the way funding is distributed to schools.
