The Tyler Police Department responded to The Village Cumberland Park on S. Broadway Avenue, where two people were stealing from T.J. Maxx. Once an officer arrived at the store, he saw the first suspect, Latavia Hall, jumping into the back seat of a 2004 Dodge Durango, and the second suspect, Deaarion Walpool, beginning to run from the scene. However, the officer caught up with Walpool.<\/p>\n
A T.J. Maxx employee told the officer that he saw Hall and Walpool inside the store going outside, stealing goods, placing the stolen merchandise into the vehicle and coming back inside to steal more.<\/p>\n
\u201cHall advised she did the actual stealing of the goods, and there was stolen merchandise in her pants,\u201d the document said. \u201c[Hall explained] they were also stealing from Marshall\u2019s earlier in the day.\u201d<\/p>\n
The officer also talked to Angela Smith, who was in the driver\u2019s seat, where she said she knew the stealing was done at Marshalls but only went into T.J. Maxx \u201cto use the bathroom.\u201d<\/p>\n
While the officer was searching the vehicle, he found $1,120.13 worth of stolen merchandise from both stores and suspected marijuana from two different purses.<\/p>\n
\u201c[The officer] observed a field weight of the marijuana to be approximately 0.28 ounces. Smith claimed ownership of the 0.28 ounces of marijuana,\u201d the document said. \u201cAnother green, leafy substance, believed to be marijuana, was seized from a brown purse. I observed a field weight of the marijuana from the brown purse to be approximately 0.125 ounces. Hall claimed ownership of the 0.125 ounces of marijuana.\u201d<\/p>\n
Hall and Smith were arrested for organized retail theft and possession of marijuana, while Walpool was arrested for organized retail theft and evading arrest. All three have posted bond and been released from jail.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
