According to our news partner KETK, their deputies and investigators were given information about an \u201cillegal cockfighting event\u201d that was being held in the 900 block of County Road 3925 in the early hours of July 4th. Investigators reviewed statements and evidence before applying for a search and arrest warrant from 276th District Judge Michael Kopech. The warrant was issued and the sheriff\u2019s office searched the property.<\/p>\n
Timothy C. Thompson, 52 of Titus County, was then arrested for cockfighting and four counts of cruelty to a livestock animal, according to a post from the sheriff\u2019s office. Thompson has been booked into the Titus County Jail and is currently waiting for his arraignment by a magistrate judge.<\/p>\n
