According to the Polk County Sheriff\u2019s Office, on June 11 officers received a report from a local resident of a retirement community who had been scammed by 38-year-old Matthew \u201cBilly\u201d Boyce of Athens. Officials said Boyce scammed the elderly person out of several thousand dollars after Boyce told them he would repair their roof but didn\u2019t do any work.<\/p>\n
Boyce was arrested in Athens on Friday for exploitation of an elderly person and theft of a property, but has since bonded out of the Polk County Jail.<\/p>\n
