The Texas Education Agency said that some grade levels scored higher than students who took the test before the pandemic. Here is how every grade level compared to last year\u2019s test takers based on the meets (standard) category, according to the Texas Education Agency.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reading Language Arts (RLA)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Increase:<br \/>\n    Third grade \u2013 3%<br \/>\n    Fourth grade \u2013 3%<br \/>\n    Fifth grade \u2013 4%<br \/>\n    Eighth grade \u2013 2%<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Sixth and seventh grade saw no changes in their score percentage compared to 2024.<br \/>\n<strong>Mathematics<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Increase:<\/p>\n<p>    Third grade \u2013 4%<br \/>\n    Fourth grade \u2013 1%<br \/>\n    Sixth grade \u2013 1%<br \/>\n    Eighth grade \u2013 5%<\/p>\n<p>Decrease:<\/p>\n<p>    Fifth grade \u2013 3%<br \/>\n    Seventh grade \u2013 1%<\/p>\n<p><strong>Science<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are only science test results for fifth and eighth graders with fifth grade seeing a 3% increase and eighth grade seeing a 4% increase.<br \/>\nSocial Studies<\/p>\n<p>The only available data is for eighth grade students who saw a 1% decrease from last year.<\/p>\n<p>For a more detailed summary of the 2025 STAAR results for third through eighth grade, visit this link from the TEA.
