The demolition began on the day of Pentecost, and church members said that the day marks a new beginning for their church.<\/p>\n
\u201cToday is the day of Pentecost and it just so happens that it\u2019s all starting today and that\u2019s the day of fresh beginnings, the day God started a new thing on the day of Pentecost, 50 days after Jesus died. And so that is also a new thing for us, that we\u2019re starting this new building,\u201d Lakewood Church pastor Raymond Graham said. \u201cGod will make all things new.\u201d<\/p>\n
