TYLER – 8-year-old Abigail Vernon from Sulphur Bluff has dreamed of showing her Brahman Bull V6 Mr. Pickup Man in the show ring. Unfortunately, she was too young for the juniors catagory. According to our news partner KETK, she didn’t let that stop her, and set out to show Mr. Pickup man anyway – with the adults.<\/p>\n
Along with Pickup Man, she has traveled all across the United States, winning banners, trophies and grand champion titles. Abigail is proving everyone wrong and showing that nothing can stop her from following her dreams. In December, Abigail asked her mother, Charli, if she could write a children\u2019s book about her memories with Pickup Man.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe relationship they have is one in a million. So they\u2019ve grown up together, and it\u2019s just amazing to see the bond and the connection that they have,\u201d Abigail\u2019s father, Tyler Vernon, said.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo we kind of unknowingly started the process at Christmas. She got up that morning and just asked, she was like, Mom, I think we should write a book, and I said, \u2018About what? She said, \u2018Pickup man, duh.\u2019 So we got up the next day, and I just asked her if she was serious, and we kind of started. Then we kind of had the whole book wrote within just a few days. It took a couple of months of tweaking it and changing things. The illustrations is kind of what took the longest, because every picture in the book is a picture that I have taken of them. So that\u2019s a real-life moment between the two of them,\u201d Abigail\u2019s mother, Charli Vernon, said.<\/p>\n
In May, that dream came true, too. Abigail and her mother wrote V6 Mr. Pickup Man and His Tiny Little Ranch Hand and dedicated it to all the kids in agriculture.
