In arrest warrant was obtained for 30-year-old Nicholas Gabriele on Thursday after community members notified the Wood County Sheriff\u2019s Office that he had started a sexual relationship with a senior in high school. According to the sheriff\u2019s office, Gabriele was an assistant football coach and an economics teacher with Winnsboro ISD for the 2024\/2025 school year.<\/p>\n
\u201cTexas Rangers, along with an investigator from the sheriff\u2019s office, were able to locate Gabriele in Ennis, where he was arrested without incident and admitted to the improper sexual relationship,\u201d the sheriff\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n
Gabriele was booked into the Ellis County Jail in Waxahachie on a total bond of $53,072. Winnsboro ISD released a statement on Thursday, which said Gabriele resigned from the district before the charge against him came to light.<\/p>\n
The released a statement also said, \u201cWinnsboro ISD was notified today that a former employee of the District has been arrested in another county and charged with having an inappropriate relationship with a student. This individual previously resigned from Winnsboro ISD, prior to these accusations coming to light. He is no longer an employee of the District and is no longer associated with Winnsboro ISD in any capacity. This is an active and ongoing investigation being handled by law enforcement. The District is cooperating fully with the appropriate authorities and will continue to do so as the investigation progresses. At this time, Winnsboro ISD does not have any further information to share. The safety and well-being of our students remains our highest priority.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
