{"id":1413949,"date":"2025-05-24T05:21:13","date_gmt":"2025-05-24T10:21:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ktbb.com\/post\/?p=1413949"},"modified":"2025-05-27T03:24:27","modified_gmt":"2025-05-27T08:24:27","slug":"mount-pleasant-city-manager-resigns-from-office-after-two-months","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ktbb.com\/post\/?p=1413949","title":{"rendered":"Mount Pleasant city manager resigns from office after two months"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ktbb.com\/post\/wp-content\/media\/2025\/05\/1718245812805-1095855754.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1413950\" \/>MOUNT PLEASANT \u2013 According to our news partner KETK, Mount Pleasant city manager Kimberly Meek has resigned from her position, citing unexpected family matters out of the state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter considerable reflection and due to unexpected personal family matters out of state, I write this letter to notify you that I am resigning my position as City Manager of Mount Pleasant, effective immediately,\u201d Meek said to the Mount Pleasant City Council on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Meek has only served as the city manager for just two months but she said she values all the relationships she\u2019s made in Mount Pleasant.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe past few months have been filled with new experiences, and I value all the professional relationships I\u2019ve developed here,\u201d Meek said. \u201cThe City is fortunate to have such dedicated Directors with a true heart to serve.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Assistant Mount Pleasant city manager Candias Webster will now serve as the acting city manager while the city council considers the appointment of an interim city manager until they can recruit a new city manager.<\/p>\n<p>Meek\u2019s resignation comes a year after former Mount Pleasant city manager Ed Thatcher resigned in May of 2024.
