Cole Hefner.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI commend Judge A.J. Mason and the entire Commissioners\u2019 Court for their courage and commitment to protecting the most vulnerable among us,\u201d said Hefner. \u201cThis isn\u2019t just a symbolic statement\u2014it\u2019s a legally enforceable action that honors the sanctity of life and strengthens Texas\u2019 stance as a leader in the fight for the unborn.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Hefner, Camp County is the first county in East Texas to pass such an ordinance, making it one of ten such counties in the United States. Texas made abortion illegal in Texas in 2022 after the state\u2019s \u201ctrigger law\u201d took effect when the U.S. Supreme Court overruled Roe V.
