LINDALE \u2013 \"\"Our news partners at KETK report that experts are predicting record-breaking travel numbers for Thanksgiving and QuikTrip clerk Adam Woodsom is no stranger to the holiday rush that brings an onslaught of travelers to the gas pumps. Woodsom, who works at the Lindale location just off Interstate 20, said this year he\u2019s already seeing more people traveling for Thanksgiving than in year\u2019s past. \u201cTime goes by fast I like being busy,\u201d Woodsom said. \u201cWe\u2019ve had a lot more family travel, especially now that winter break has started.\u201d<\/p>\n

To meet the requirements of the tons of people traveling for Thanksgiving, Woodsom said they are staffed up for this year\u2019s surge of travelers.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot more people have been working so there\u2019s a lot more of us walking around there,\u201d Woodsom said. \u201cSo, it\u2019s a lot more hectic but yeah we get our job done.\u201d<\/p>\n

Daniel Armbruster with AAA said that from Tuesday to next Monday nearly 80 million Americans will be traveling creating record breaking numbers.

\u201c5.7 million will be Texans who are traveling 50 miles or more for Thanksgiving,\u201d Armbruster said. \u201cWe have not seen travel volumes that high in Thanksgiving\u2019s past so certainly it\u2019s going to be a very Thanksgiving on the road ways.\u201d<\/p>\n

Travelers on East Texas roads said that thankfully so far, it\u2019s been smooth sailing.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe traffic has not been bad now I\u2019m sure it\u2019s going to get worse the closer we get to Dallas,\u201d Gloria Mackin who\u2019s traveling through East Texas from South Carolina said. \u201cBut coming this way we really haven\u2019t had a problem.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
