SMITH COUNTY \u00e2\u20ac\u201c The first day of early voting in Smith County saw more than 9,000 votes cast at the polls on Monday. According to our news partner KETK, Smith County officials said 10,635 ballots were cast, 9,594 were cast in person. How does this compare to early voting during the 2020 election? In 2020, Smith County only saw about 6,000 people in the first day of early voting.

Now through November 1, registered voters can cast their ballots at any of the eight early voting locations, which include:
\nFirst Christian Church \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Christian Life Center Room 5: 4202 S. Broadway Ave, Tyler
\nHeritage Building: 1900 Bellwood Road, Tyler
\nThe Hub: 304 E. Ferguson Street, Tyler
\nKinzie Community Center: 912 Mt. Sylvan St., Lindale
\nNoonday Community Center: 16662 CR 196, Tyler
\nStarrville Church of the Living God, 18396 Highway 271, Winona
\nWhitehouse Methodist Church: 405 W. Main Street, Whitehouse
\nGreen Acres Baptist Church \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Flint Campus, at 1010 CR 137, Flint<\/p>\n
New for this election, the Green Acres Baptist Church \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Flint Campus, will be open for early voting during weekdays only. It will NOT be a polling place on Saturday or Sunday.<\/p>\n
Because of Smith County\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s construction of its parking garage next door to the Elections Office and The Hub, parking will be tight at the main polling place. Elections Administrator Michelle Allcon is asking voters to consider casting their ballots at one of the other locations.<\/p>\n
Early voting dates and times include:
\n8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Friday, October 21-25
\n7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, October 26
\nNoon to 6 p.m. Sunday, October 27
\n7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Friday, October 28 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c November 1.<\/p>\n
If you would like to apply for a mail-in ballot, the deadline for the Elections Office to receive the application is October 25. If your not sure where the closest polling location is to you. \nElection Day is 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Smith County residents will be able to choose any of the 38 polling locations to cast their ballots on Election Day.
