TYLER \u00e2\u20ac\u201d A Tyler woman has been sentenced to prison for driving while under the influence causing her 9-year-old daughter\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s death. According to our news partner KETK, Krystle Medeiros, 38 of Tyler, was sentenced to 40 years in prison on Monday after pleading guilty to murder and two counts of intoxication assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury. Medeiros\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 daughter succumbed to her injuries the following day.<\/p>\n
According to an arrest warrant, on Jan. 4 a red Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV \u00e2\u20ac\u0153was driving on the wrong side of the roadway\u00e2\u20ac\u009d causing a head-on crash on SH 64. Both occupants of the Trailblazer, Medeiros and her daughter, were taken to a local hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n
The warrant states during an inspection of Medeiros vehicle, officials noted \u00e2\u20ac\u0153a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Hospital staff later told troopers that Medeiros \u00e2\u20ac\u0153informed them that she had been drinking.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
