TROUP — Smith County DPS and Troup Police reported an accident involving an SUV and a horse that forced a road to close in the Troup area. FM 346 was shut down while officials cleared the scene but has since reopened. Authorities say the accident happened around 6:20 at the intersection of CR 2142 and FM 346 Monday morning, when the vehicle hit the horse in the roadway.
