According to our news partner KETK, the Henderson County Fire Marshall received a complaint about County Commissioner Precinct 1 work crews dumping items on the property of the Trinity River Authority. The Trinity River Authority supervises the surface water resources of the Trinity River Basin. Due to the complaint, the Fire Marshall&#8217;s office and the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality are doing a joint investigation.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Precinct 1 County Commissioner Wendy Spivey said in a statement posted on her facebook page, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I was unaware of the County ever dumping any material in an eroded ditch, but apparently this has happened several times in the past 25 years.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>Spivey went on to say it has been common practice \u00e2\u20ac\u0153by all county precincts\u00e2\u20ac\u009d to dump excess dirt, concrete rubble and other leftover materials from road repairs into washouts, low spots and eroded areas \u00e2\u20ac\u0153in the landowners property.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d She said  this have been done to \u00e2\u20ac\u0153help the landowner and save the County taxpayers the cost to haul the excess materials off.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>Spivey said her office is investigating the situation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>HENDERSON COUNTY\u00e2\u20ac\u201c A Henderson County Commissioner\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s crew is accused of illegally dumping near the Trinity River.
