\"\"LONGVIEW — Longview ISD officials said their \u00e2\u20ac\u0153hearts are broken\u00e2\u20ac\u009d after an incoming high school student died on Tuesday. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Longview Independent School District is shocked and saddened to learn about the tragic death of incoming Longview High School freshman Rahsaan \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcBobo\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 Jefferson,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said the school district. According to our news partner KETK, Longview police said Jefferson died folowing a shooting at the Preserve Apartments on West Avalon Avenue on Monday night. The school district extended their condolences to Rahsaan\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s loved ones. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153To lose any member of our Lobo family hurts, but especially one so young,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said James Brewer, the Longview High School Principal. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Crisis counselors and campus administrators will be on hand for any students and staff who need assistance.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n

Rahsaan\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s friends and teammates called him \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Bobo.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d He was a talented student-athlete at Foster Middle School. This summer, Rahsaan had joined the Lobos freshman football team. Coach John King told his players about the student\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s passing on Tuesday and grief counselors were available. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Our thoughts and prayers are with Rahsaan\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s loved ones during this difficult time,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said King. The district also asked people to respect the family and friends\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 privacy at this time.<\/p>\n
