The city of Tyler Friday morning issued an update as conditions improve, though temperatures will remain cold for the immediate future, and some roadways could still cause challenges. All City offices and facilities are back on regular schedules as of 10 a.m. Friday. The Tyler Street Department began treating bridges and overpasses at 5 a.m. Friday. Staff reports some slick spots on the streets and recommends motorists continue driving with caution. All traffic signals are fully operational. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The City of Tyler Solid Waste recycling and trash pickup routes were not interrupted. Routes will continue to be serviced as scheduled. For future updates, please download the Tyler Talks Trash app. Water to bathrooms and water fountains at all parks and trails will continue to be disconnected until temperatures rise above freezing. Afternoon flights are running as scheduled. Passengers can visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.AA.com\">this link<\/a> or call 1-800-433-7300 to check the status of their flights and find the most current American Airlines flight information.<\/p>\n<p>Tyler Transit will be running their regular fixed-route schedules starting at 10 a.m. Friday. Paratransit customers will keep their scheduled trips. If you have any questions, please contact our office at (903) 533-8057.<\/p>\n<p>Tyler Municipal Court is open as of 10 a.m. Friday. All hearings scheduled for Feb. 4 have been canceled. Anyone scheduled to appear in court will have to reschedule for a later date or may email the court at <a href=\"mailto:Municrt@TylerTexas.com\">Municrt@TylerTexas.com<\/a> to schedule a virtual hearing. Court hearings will resume on Monday, Feb. 7 at 8 a.m. Anyone with a pending deadline may visit Municipal Court&#8217;s website to obtain options for handling and\/or paying citations.<\/p>\n<p>Residents can get more information <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cityoftyler.org\/\">here<\/a> and on the city&#8217;s social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, and Nextdoor).<\/p>\n<p>TxDOT crews, meanwhile, have pre-treated major roadways with a brine solution consisting of salt and water designed to prevent ice and snow from sticking to surfaces. Crews have also readied equipment and materials to treat other roadways as warranted. Get statewide road conditions by calling 800-452-9292.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some safe driving tips:<\/p>\n<p>Be extra cautious on bridges, overpasses, ramps, turns and shaded areas that usually freeze first.<br \/>\nReduce speed and allow extra time to reach destinations.<br \/>\nIncrease the following distance between you and other vehicles.<br \/>\nIf you start to slide, ease off the gas pedal or brakes and steer into the direction of skid.<br \/>\nStay back at least 200 feet from vehicles treating roadways and move over for emergency vehicles.<br \/>\nBe patient. Your trip time could increase when adverse weather conditions exist.<br \/>\nRemain in your vehicle.
