According to our news partner KETK, Daisy Grace Lynn George was shot by her father with a high-powered rifle just east of Hallsville in what Fletcher called \u00e2\u20ac\u0153a tragic accident.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Though authorities had requested a care flight, all helicopters had been grounded due to inclement weather. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Fletcher gave more details on the shooting, saying it occurred at the father\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s truck after they were in a deer stand for around two hours. He said they had spent two cartridges while in the stand. According to Fletcher, the father &#8220;remembered loading four into the rifle, ejected two at the vehicle, was going to clear the hammer on the gun and when he did, it went off.&#8221; Fletcher said EMS workers and deputies had trouble locating Daisy and her father due to poor cell phone reception. He said the father was an experienced hunter who had been hunting most of his life. Fletcher also extended condolences to Daisy&#8217;s family and friends. In his words, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I hate to see a young person lose their life in this way\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6Anytime a young person loses their life, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s tragic for anyone involved.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>Fletcher\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s department is working with Texas Park and Wildlife game wardens in the investigation. Hallsville ISD has made grief counselors available to students and staff. A GoFundMe has been set up for Daisy\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s funeral expenses.
