Broussard told KTBB news, &#8220;We are very proud of the Tyler economy and how well it was able to rebound and come out of&#8230; that kinda COVID slump that happened in March and April of last year.&#8221;  But Broussard says the city will continue its policy of budgeting conservatively for the coming fiscal year &#8220;so we don&#8217;t get stuck in a spot where we have to pull back or stop&#8221; certain services due to insufficient funds. <!--more--> <\/p>\n<p>Tyler gets over $4.5 million in sales tax allocations for June, a nearly 55 per cent increase from a year ago. Year-to-date figures show Tyler with more than $25 million, a jump of close to 18 per cent from this point in 2020. Longview will receive over $3.1 million for June, a spike of more than 44 per cent compared to last June. For the year to date, Longview has totaled over $18 million, an increase of nearly 13 per cent from the same period last year.
