The Council approved the addition of a five-year implementation schedule to the current Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces Master Plan. The schedule covers planned projects through 2025.  This year the city is set to complete the Lindsey Park restrooms, the Bergfeld Park tennis courts, and a soccer field at Fun Forest Park.  The Council also signed off on pavement improvements for 48 streets.  Two veteran councilmembers &#8212; Shirley McKellar and Bob Westbrook &#8212; were sworn in to new terms, along with first-time Councilmember Stuart Hene. McKellar (pictured at left) was chosen to serve as mayor pro tem.
