Pedestrian killed in Athens

ATHENS — An Athens woman was killed Monday night after being struck by an SUV. According to Athens police, a pedestrian, Teresa Fawcette, 60, of Athens, was attempting to cross South Palestine Street when she was struck. The driver was not physically injured in the tragedy. The accident took place at 7:20 Monday night. The investigation into this crash is ongoing.
