TYLER — Tyler ISD, annual “Pathfinder” event will be held this weekend. TISD’s Jennifer Hines told KTBB Tuesday, “Obviously given the current situation, we have had to adjust. We are learning to adapt and deliver right now. We have created a virtual pathfinder experience and people will be able to see all of the different types of choice and innovation schools and programs that we have in the district.” The district is inviting the community and families to explore the Choice and Innovation schools & programs at its virtual Pathfinder online event Saturday.
The event opens at 9 a.m. by clicking the link below. The event runs through noon. The Executive Director of Communications for the District continued, “We have so many opportunities available; for instance at the Career and Technology Center, there is Veterinary Science, Culinary Arts, Cosmetology, you can take a class in Welding, you can learn about Construction. There are all kinds of ‘Pathways’ that students can take and there are multiple certificates that they can earn through-out their high school career. Now, the other schools we are featuring, those are ‘Choice Schools’, so those, students have to apply for and meet that standard in order to get in and of course availability.” The classes are tuition free. Students do not have to live in the District’s zone to attend a choice school. Monday, March 1 is the deadline to apply to all Choice schools. Application information is available at http://www.tylerisd.org/pathfinder.
