TISD to address new school names at Thursday morning meeting

TYLER — Tyler ISD has a scheduled Board of Trustees Board workshop meeting on Thursday at 11 a.m. Item 3 on the agenda is discussion and possible action to select the new names for Robert E. Lee High School and John Tyler High School. TISD decided to make the historic change last month to both schools following a unanimous decision by council members at the July 16 meeting. Officials anticipate the rebranding of the schools will cost upwards of $300,000 to change buildings, uniforms, and fine arts.
