Tyler Police promote Officer to Sergeant

TYLER — Tyler Police officer Dion Reed has been promoted to Sergeant. On Thursday, TPD said in a release that Sgt. Reed began his law enforcement career as a jailer for the Smith County Sheriff’s Department, he was hired at the Tyler Police Department. Sgt. Reed has spent two years as a motorcycle officer in the Traffic Unit. He has been working the midnight shift as a patrol officer before his promotion.
