Salvation Army Offers Emotional Support Phone LineTYLER — On Tuesday, Captain Nicole Parker told KTBB that the Salvation Army has established a phone number where people impacted by the coronavirus can call for emotional and spiritual support, “It’s for people who are lonely, or need someone to talk with.” Parker continued, “locally we have been hearing a lot people wondering where their meals are going to come from, or how they will pay their rent, and fear of the unknown and we are able to answer those calls and be a listening ear on the other side, we share that we have a greater hope in Jesus to be the anchor of our soul and to trust in Him and to lean into that.”

The number is available seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. A team of ESC specialists, made up of Salvation Army Officers and trained employees, are avilable to help callers at at (844) 458-HOPE (4673). The specific goal of the hotline is to offer assistance to people overcome with worry or undue stress caused by the pandemic. Callers will find people ready to listen to their burdens of concern and pray with them.
