U.T. Tyler Makes Various Moves in Response to COVID-19TYLER — On Thursday UT Tyler President Dr. Michael Tidwell told KTBB that the university has taken a number of precautionary measures in response to COVID-19 including moving all classes online. “We have taken a number of steps to ensure the welfare of our students, staff and faculty, maybe the most important is moving all of our courses online for the remainder of the semester. We already have a large amount of courses in our portfolio available, but now we are moving all of our courses online for the remainder of the semester.”

Dr. Tidwell continued, “It’s a major challenge as you can imagine. We have a wonderful team of faculty, in fact some of the best faculty that I’ve ever had the privilege to work with in my 20 plus year career in higher education. They have been extremely flexible, they understand the environment that we are working in right now, they understand the challenges with the pandemic, they have been extremely flexible.” In addition to all classes moving to online… Commencement will be postponed. Last date to withdraw from classes has been extended. The Cowan Center season has been postponed. The Athletic season has been cancelled, as well as numerous other steps.
