Canton Man Sentenced Following Plead Last JuneTYLER — A 44-year-old Canton, Texas man has been sentenced to federal prison for drug trafficking violations in the Eastern District of Texas. On Wednesday, Robby Dale Baker was sentenced to 130 months in federal prison, on charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine. Baker was also ordered to pay a money judgment in the amount of $8,000.

According to information presented in court, in March, April, and May of 2018, Baker sold methamphetamine on three separate occasions. Law enforcement executed a search warrant at Baker’s Canton residence in May of 2018 and recovered more methamphetamine, as well as several firearms and ammunition. Baker admitted to being involved in a drug trafficking conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine to others. Baker was indicted by a federal grand jury in July of 2018. This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Alan Jackson.
