Tyler Area MPO to Host Open House

TYLER — The Tyler Area Metropolitan Planning Organization is inviting the public for an open house that will be held with the focus of amending the Transportation Improvement Program. The purpose of the TIP is to list the transportation improvements that are scheduled to be implemented within the next four years. The meeting scheduled for Jan 7, kicks-off a ten-day public comment period, that runs through Jan. 17.

The proposed amendments include adding funding to acquire property and move utilities to facilitate two upcoming street widening projects.

MPO staff members will be available to answer questions and provide information regarding the proposed amendments. The proposed amendments will be considered for adoption at the MPO Policy Committee Meeting on Jan. 23. The open house will be from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Tyler Development Center, Large Conference Roomon W. This public notice of public involvement activities and time established for public review and comments on the TIP development process will satisfy the FTA’s program of the project requirements.
