Longview City Offices Closed New Years
Posted/updated on: December 29, 2019 at 10:22 amLONGVIEW — The City of Longview city offices will be closed next Wednesday, for New Year’s Day. All city offices will resume regular business hours the following day. Sanitation services will not run on Wednesday. Monday and Tuesday garbage and recycling collection will operate as normal, but Wednesday and Thursday garbage and recycling collections will be shifted to Thursday and Friday respectively. The Compost Facility will also be closed Wednesday, Jan. 1.
The Longview Public Library will close at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31 and remain closed on Wednesday, Jan. 1. The Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 1, but reopen on Thursday, Jan. 2. Longview Transit, the public bus transportation system, will end regular service at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 31, but will offer its Safe Ride Home program for New Year’s Eve from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. No Longview Transit service will run on Wednesday, Jan. 1. Regular transportation service will resume Thursday, Jan. 2. During the holiday, residents may report a water or sewer emergency by calling 903-236-3030.
