LONGVIEW — Longview ISD is hosting numerous town hall meetings to gather input from parents about receiving a district-wide charter status. According to our news partner KETK, the district currently has six charter schools operated by the nonprofit East Texas Advanced Academies. The charter status means the school is still part of a public school education, but has the opportunity to receive more state funding.
The district would like to open more robotics programs on campuses. Ultimately, the goal would be to prepare students for jobs that are not even developed yet. The Tuesday night meeting will be followed up on Nov. 5 at Longview High School where parents can voice their opinions. You can get more information by contacting Longview ISD.
