Nix Suspends Mayoral Campaign

TYLER — Former Tyler City Councilman John Nix has suspended his run for Tyler mayor — leaving current Councilman Don Warren as the only announced candidate. In a press statement, Nix says he’ll be buying out his father, who’s also his business partner, and “will need to re-establish the footing of Nix Construction as a sole proprietorship.” Nix adds that he’ll “continue to be deeply involved in city governance and the business community.” Nix says he has confidence in Warren, who responded that he has the utmost respect for Nix. The new mayor will be chosen during the next city election in May.
