Inaugural UT Speaker Series Success

TYLER — The UT Tyler professional development speaker series recently launched a courtesy of the UT Tyler student chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA). The event hosted freshmen business majors, faculty, and alumni at the Soules College of Business. One of the event speakers in the inaugural event was Phil Burkes, the CEO and founder of The Genesis Group. Burks as well as other Tyler-based companies, spoke to the audience.
A variety of subjects were covered. Burks finished his portion discussing his latest venture, FIRST iZ, a drone system programmed to autonomously fly to incidents at 60+ mph, send live video and detect hazardous gases, offering first responders and commanders an assessment of the area before they arrive.
