City Seeking Input for Tyler 1st PlanTYLER — As part of the Tyler 1st comprehensive planning process, the City of Tyler is looking for input from residents on Downtown, Business and Economy, and Education. One way the city will be taking in feedback is at at a Public Open House at the Discovery Science Place Annex on Tuesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Community members can also also provide input by leaving a comment at http://www.Tyler1st.org on the Resilient Economy and Regionalism meeting page.

The purpose of the public open house and digital feedback is to seek resident input on the implementation and status of the selected areas of focus as well as future needs. City officials will analyze the input and incorporate the resident feedback into their decision process during the Tyler 1st Comprehensive Plan update. Tyler 1st is the City’s comprehensive plan. It was originally adopted by the City Council on Nov. 14, 2007 after nearly 18 months of community involvement and input. This 20-year plan created a strategic framework for future actions for the City and defines a vision for the future linked to overall goals and policies. The plan contains strategies and action items for achieving the goals.
