UPSHUR COUNTY — The Safe Haven Equine Rescue continues rehab of over 150 horses that were seized in June. According to our news partner KETK, In a statement from the facility, “the horses are receiving fresh hay every two hours and have a constant supply of water.” They intend to repair the hooves, but the process is slow due to past conditions. A warrant was served on June 27 to seize the horses due to what appeared to be malnourishment and a lack of veterinary care. Most looked severely underweight, and kept in overcrowded pens.
