City of Marshall Ends Red Light Camera ProgramMARSHALL — The city of Marshall is shutting down its red light camera program. On June 1, Governor Greg Abbott signed a law prohibiting cities from operating photographic traffic camera systems that catch citizens speeding or running red lights and issuing fines; the law took effect June 2. But citations for violations that occurred before that date are still valid. Marshall officials say anyone with outstanding citations issued for violations before June 2 should send a check, money order, or cashier’s check made out to the City of Marshall. The payment should be mailed to the Marshall Police Department, ATTN: Photo Enforcement, 2101 East End Blvd. North, Marshall, Texas 75670.
