Armed Robbery in Liberty City

LIBERTY CITY — The Gregg County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Friday morning bank robbery in Liberty City. According to the sheriff’s office’s Facebook page, authorities responded shortly after 9:00 to the First National Bank of Hughes Springs at FM 1252 and Old Highway 135. Authorities said Friday afternoon they were looking for a person who fled the scene on foot with an undetermined amount of money. The suspect is described as a white male, about 6 feet tall, wearing a blue or black hat with white lettering, a mask covering his face, possibly a denim shirt over a dark-colored hoodie, gloves, jeans, and white shoes, carrying a black bag with a white stripe.
